Gallery - Downstairs room to finish into main bedroom
The unfinished room-to-finish sit behind the kitchen. The door you see leads to outside garden area and faces south. It is an independent entrance. Old fireplace is a focal point. Heated floors.
We now have stored a lot of stuff in this room. The open door leads to the utility hallway then to the kitchen. You can see the staircase orientation - leads to the loft - we would like to reverse the stairs.
View to the fireplace (before the bed was there)
This window is on the wall opposite to the door and faces into the large garden to the north so it stays cool in the summer.
This bed will go upstairs into the loft area. I want to put a king bed in here facing similar direction - toward the window. Wood burner will stay in the fireplace. Old doors I got from a chateau but not sure how to use them.
The door you see to the far right (which is partially cut off) it the entrance from the front into this unfinished room. The main entrance to the house is in the middle of the photo.
Gallery - Upstairs loft
Loft space - looking to the east - you can see the upper part of the chimney
Loft space to the west. On the other side of the wall is a guest bedroom in the main house. Windows face south.
Most of the sheetrock and electrical has been installed. Windows are new and there is good light.
A total of three dormer windows face south. Note the amount of clearance from the top of the stairs to the wall. If the staircase is re-oriented, it would crowd the opposite wall. Therefore, it would probably have to turn at the top if it faced the other way, and it would likely turn into the part of the loft with the chimney.
